Little Shoal Bay
About
Shoal Bay is a favoured anchorage / mooring area for the shallow draft cruising multihulls often over-width for regular road transport or standard marinas and the haul out area also caters for these craft.
The Shoal Bay Boatyard provides a rare facility for the “Do-it-Yourself” maintenance and upkeep of smaller vessels. It has been a traditional part of the Bay for many years and is a vital part of our marine environment.
The Foreshore as a Community Asset: Two hours after high tide the water had already receded a hundred meters out of the Bay leaving the bare mud flats. It is not a beach for pleasant swimming but is a safe beach for younger children to splash along the shore line near high tide. The grass area and the playground enhance the area for families. The hard stand and boat yard is also an important family asset where boats can be serviced by the families.
