Over the last 12 months, the Auckland Yacht & Boating Association has:
- Made a formal submission in relation to an application for private moorings at Home Bay, Rakino. Engaged legal assistance and made an appeal after a negative outcome. Proceeded to mediation and achieved improved outcome for clubs.
- Made a formal submission in relation to proposed marine mammal sanctuary in Te Pewhairangi– Bay of Islands.
- Made a formal submission in relation to Proposed Changes to Existing Navigation Safety Bylaws [Waitemata Harbour]
- Liaised with potential applicants regarding a potential mooring at Woodside Bay, Waiheke
- Liaised with parties regarding potential removal of tidal grid in Smokehouse Bay, Great Barrier.
- Provided financial contribution for container transportation of Auckland P-Class dinghies to 2021 Tanner & Tauranga Cup at Charteris Bay Yacht Club in Lyttleton Harbour, managed by Kohimarama YC
- Provided co-funding for MedAire First Aid refresher training course, hosted by Gulf Harbour YC
- Provided co-funding for safety boat training hosted by Bucklands Beach YC.
- Provided co-funding for safety boat training hosted by Northcote Birkenhead YC.
- Handled repairs to the AYBA owned navigation light on Rotorua Island [for Blanche Passage]
- Provided access to AYBA owned Channel 4 for use by AC36 event management team
- Initiated process for improving Channel 4 coverage for inner Gulf [from AYBA Nth Head repeater]
- Co-ordinated & published the 2020-21 edition of the combined club event calendars
